Solar Lanterns Making an Impact in India

Convenient. Bright. Environmentally friendly light.

Solar power is one of the latest crazes and with good cause since it is good for the environment, and available pretty much everywhere.  We have seen it on calculators and garden lights for years, and most recently,  solar lanterns.

Now, solar lanterns may seem like a silly name (since there is no sun at night when you would be using the lantern), but they depend on the sun to charge them up.  Once they are charged, they typically provide four to six hours of light on a single charge.

In many cases, most solar lanterns also work as crank lights, so that if the lantern dies, all it takes is a few cranks to have the lights on again.  That makes them perfect to include in your emergency kit at home and in your car, as they will work no matter what the temperature or situation.

Buy a solar lantern below, and never have to worry about dead batteries in your flashlight ever again :)

Have you had any experience with solar lanterns?
